"...that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
Today's word is love. I bought this item in Kalona, Iowa, where there is an Amish/Mennonite community. Lovely town! It is made of nails. Attached to the piece is a paper that says:
"The cross is to remind us of our Savior's dying for our sins and the nails remind us of the terrible price He paid. Surrounding the cross is a heart. This is remind us that it was His love that held Him on the cross, not the nails."
Great sign of all time! I like the sun shining through and this is a beautiful piece. I thought I was the only one who had ever been to Kalona. I lived in Iowa for two (cold) years and literally visited every inch of the state, since I had agents in offices all over the state. I lived in Windsor Heights and had an apartment in Dubuque. What took you to Iowa?
My parents married in Des Moines (mom frm WI, Dad from FLA). One of my best friends lived in Maquoketa for years. First time I travelled to Iowa was for her wedding. Many, many moons later, youngest son joins a fraternity at UF that is headquartered in Iowa City. After graduation, he worked for them for two years. I really love Iowa City and I loved visiting him a few times. Too cold for me, for certain. I have flown into Dubuque and last time we were there, we were nearby. But did you ever visit Field of Dreams??
Beautifully composed to include the sun flare Danette! It greatly depicts the meaning of Jesus' death on the cross that provided the one and only way for mankind to leave a life in darkness and enter into God's light! +F
@danette Yes, I was there when the movie was released, so I eventually joined the long lines of traffic that visited there. Just before I moved to Florida, I sold health insurance to the neighbor on the farm just north of the field of dreams...wasn't that a great movie!!
