The conference ended with a dinner and a concert by Guy Penrod, formerly of the Bill Gaither gospel group.
Thinking "outside the box", I am using this for today's word of reflection since I was able to reflect upon my many blessings.
He was supposed to sing for 1 hour and ended up singing for 1 hour and 35 minutes. What a fabulous evening. If you get a chance, listen to his music. It is well worth your time.
Magnificent portrait Danette! There are a couple who attend our church that love the Gaithers. If they could of, they probably would have been there. Great interpretation of reflect!
@calm@kandernob Thank you so very much for the favs! I appreciate that!
All the lighting for this conference was a trick for me. One photo would turn out great and the very next one would be too orange or too blue or overexposed or underexposed. But, he Exec. Dir. should be happy with what I got. The concert was just for over 100 people. The lighting was dim. I don't like using flash in a concert situation because it takes away the mood. Fortunately he left the stage and was probably 10' away from me when I took this shot. He was great at interacting with the audience. We all received copies of his new CD. I can't wait to hear it.
However you set this up for your photo, you absolutely got it right. This looks as though it was photograhped in a studio that I used to work in Topeka,Kansas. This is a professional quality compotition print. A definite FAV.
@brucegrayum Thank you so much for your nice comments, Bruce! You really made me beam. It was by shear determination that I got this shot. I didn't set it up. I was shooting a conference and this was the end concert. The lighting in the room was awful for photos! I had brought a flash and quickly dispensed with it. I fiddled the entire concert with settings. I had gotten some other nice photos, but then he left the stage and was right at the next table. He fortunatly was still because it was on a low shutter speed. I just kept taking photos and I knew I had a winner here! It certainly helped that he has silver hair and was dressed in dark clothes.

@travelingcamper Thanks, Lorena!
@bdb3471 Thanks, Brian. I am glad I was able to capture it in such dim lighting. He has a wonderul voice.
