Sandhill Cranes-re-edit

Had to reformat my hard drive, so I am behind on everything, including commenting. Took forever to re-catalog my 238k+ photos into Lightroom. Ugh, need to delete some of those! But, I came across some ones that I loved from Orlando 2 years back.
So sorry about your PC! Awful when that happens and appreciate all the work to get it organized! Gorgeous capture of these cranes. Beautiful detail on the feathers. Love the siting, too - looks to be a golf course!

Gorgeous. How tall are they? They look huge, like emus!

@homeschoolmom They are tall, but not quite as big as an emu. Seems to be about 4'. They are interesting birds!

Beautiful.

They are beauties! And you actually went back to all your old photos and catalogued them? WOW! I'm impressed. I started with this years and brought in a few of the libraries. But that is overwhelming to think about.

Oh, bummer about your computer and the extra work, but this is a lovely shot. Super-clear details of these sandhill cranes. I really enjoy the pop of red on the tops of their heads.

@taffy Perhaps I overstated. Everything was already in folders from before (whether or not the folders are completely accurate is another story). I imported them to LR. I think there are a few hundred folders. Pretty much overwhelmed my computer for a few hours. The bad thing about doing that is that LR remembers your last import, so it was bogged down for a while after opening. Now it seems to be mostly back to normal. I'll just need to check my settings since I had to download the version.

Fabulous comp Danette. So sad to hear about the HD, but at least you still had your images.

WOW...lovely creatures. Wonderful color and detail. They are so tall. Do you ever see them fly?
June 27th, 2015
@eyesmile They don't come quite this far south, so I don't see them much. They apparently have quite a wide wing span. They do fly.

Wow, I don't know that I have actually seen sand hill cranes. Or, at least, not this close. Nice capture.
