Willow hammock

I didn't know there was this kind of hammock in the Everglades. It is essentially a floating island as the trees roots are all knotted together. A large storm can move the island. There are also oak hammocks but those are on higher land.

@emrob Thank you! That would be sawgrass..which is abundant in the Everglades. The water is 2-3' deep.

Love seeing your shots of beautiful Florida ...been there lots, my mother grew up in Ft Pierce, my cousins are in Miami, Port St Lucie etc. and I want to live there!!
