@gardenfolk This is not normal! It broke a record for the date going back to about 1929. The scary part isn't the rain we already got, but what's coming on top of it! Tropical systems that stay stationary can wreak a lot of havoc.
@kwind Yes, the water is very high. Not, they have not evacuated. It is rising water, unlike a swollen river. Praying the pumps will start making progress.
Your photo portrays the peril of the situation very nicely. So much water. I too hope that the pumps will work. ANd that you will be alright. With so much water, where can they pump the water to?
