Ibis

Twice a year, our church does a day of "Serve the City" where we go out an help non-profits far and wide in our community. We have many hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of volunteers at about 30 different locations. This time, there was gardening, painting, handyman-type work, even laundry and parties for senior citizens. I got to help out at an animal rehab facility. Animals who have been hurt go there to either get better or stay. There was a blind opossum content to run on his wheel. This Ibis was in the marshy area on the grounds--not injured.
Beautiful setting.

I love the Ibis. Have you ever read the short story, "The Scarlet Ibis?"

@darylo That was one of my all-time favorite stories...even though so sad! My teacher read it to us in 4th grade. Took me a long time to remember the title. I don't think I have re-read it, since it's so sad. But, that's how I always remember the name of this bird!

Wonderful shot and awesome to be part of a fellowship that serves the community to show the love of God!
