@danette They could be red-eared sliders or some species of coots. Red-ears have yellow-orange to red stripes behind their eyes and over their ears. The long nails indicate males--- they use them to stroke the females and convince them to mate!

@jeanniec57 Very interesting! I wonder if it is a yellow bellied slider? It isn't red-eared. I have a few from another angle and I don't see any red.

@henrir Reptiles (if they have feet have claws)... females have short nails for digging in soil to lay eggs. Males have the nails to encourage the females to mate.... the opposite of humans LOL

@danette I was going to ask you if you had other angles showing the side of their heads. Could be any number of slider/cooter species.
