As most of you know, our community lost 17 students and faculty a year ago. This temple was constructed to help heal the wounds. Tonight was the designated time to burn it down. I will dedicate a few days to this burn. It was very moving.
At the time this photo was taken, the perimeter was sealed off. Only a handful of people were allowed (in addition to the firefighters). I believe this is the artist, David Best, along with a young man who was permitted to start part of the fire.
