Orange groves by danette

Orange groves

There are still some orange groves in Florida. The scent of an orange blossom is heavenly. The season is over now. I just learned that we were on the Lake Wales Ridge, which is a sand ridge 150 miles long. As a kid, whenever we went to this town, I looked forward to the hill that went up, but not down. We were told it was where the ocean once was (far inland from current beaches).
I remember those! My ex's parents had a few acres in groves in central Florida. I've heard lots of family groves have gone by the wayside now - which is very sad - like family farms.
