@louannwarren Tampa is fairly good about embracing history. Ybor City is very historical and they try hard to keep that charm. My son's area is a mix of old and new. You can see some of the older homes (such as his) being torn down and McMansions taking their place. He lives just 2 blocks from Tampa Bay. Bayshore Blvd is lined with multi-million dollar homes. His street has mixed zoning, so it will be interesting to see what happens over time. The house is really wonderful inside.

@danette finally in our historical neighborhoods, they have halted all the McMansions. It’s actually too late in some areas but many of the neighborhoods saved their historically significant homes. Dallas has a powerful Historical Preservation League, woe be to anyone who wants to tear down a historical home or business.
