Woodcutting 2010 by dapatrino

Woodcutting 2010

In 2005 our friend Harry was in an accident that resulted in him losing his left leg. He and his family heat their homes with wood burning stoves. Like Charlie, Harry drove for Wal-Mart, and for the past 5 years my hubby has organized the last Saturday in September as Woodcutting Day. The first year there were almost 25 drivers who attended. Some drove over 3 hours so they could come and help! As you can see from our group picture that number has gradually dwindled, but that hasn't stopped us from completing our task. This is the first year we didn't have to endure cold temperatures or pouring rain! It was sunny and in the mid 70's! There is always plenty of food and wonderful fellowship! Naturally I had my camera with me and I took over 250 pictures! I also did my share to help remove brush from the fallen trees and handed freshly cut logs up into the truck. I believe the final count was 7 loads!
Beautiful collage Debbie, and what a wonderful thing to do for a friend. :)

What a wonderful idea to help a neighbour. I'm amazed! A lovely collage to sum up your day. Maybe a framed print for Harry to remind him of his great friends?

Great project. I like the collage effect without framing. One activity leads right into the next one.
