A week in Finland and I was expecting to see the Northern Lights at some point but alas it wasn't to be. There were only two days of clear blues skies whilst there and this image was taken down by a frozen lake, late on one of those clear nights. I've not done much night sky photography - only managing to capture the full moon. I was pleased with the results of this particular image though and with temperatures of around -17 needless to say, I wasn't out long!
Yeah, bad luck with the northern lights. If it´s any consolation, i´ve never seen prober ones althought seen some kinds of northern lights and I live in Finland! Well in southern Finland we other perks but Northern lights aren´t one of them.
@susale I've been fortunate enough to see the lights in Norway and Iceland so it would have been an added bonus to see them here too. Enjoyed Finland so very much and cannot wait to get back!
