During a week long visit a handful of weeks back I got to experience the birthday of a lifetime and climb this glacier. I can only say that if you EVER get the chance to climb a glacier then grab it while you can. Sadly, they are in rapid decline due to global warming and indeed, once at the top of this one, it was a balmy 26 degrees!

Jostedal Glacier (Norwegian Jostedalsbreen) is the largest glacier in continental Europe. It is situated in Sogn og Fjordane county in Western Norway. Jostedalsbreen lies in the municipalities of Luster, Sogndal, Jølster, and Stryn. The highest peak in the area is Lodalskåpa at a height of 2083 m.
