Last night I bottled the Porter I brewed on my birthday. This was my first handmade recipe, so I was curious to see how it turned out. The raw sample tasted great! Hints of a roasted, nutty flavor and aftertastes of bread/biscuit. It was still young and will need time to condition in the bottle, but I was rather excited about this batch!
Thanks. I was pretty stoked on how it tasted. I got a bunch for recipes to experiment with...
As for aging in the bottle, I usually wait about 3-4 weeks for sampling. This one didn't taste too "green (young)" so I may crack one open at the 2 week mark to see how well it carbonated, taste, etc. However, if it tastes really good, they won't be around for too long!
