Portrait of two daughters...

I loved this spot for shots on my trip. It felt almost unreal with the idyllic water (it's called the emerald coast for its green/blue clear water--and it was exactly that) and the great walkway to the beach keeps subjects front and center even though there were people just beyond. And my kids, what happened to them? They just grew up in the flash of an eye!

My daughter on the right will attend Georgia Institute of Technology (on a full-tuition scholarship) and was just accepted into the Honors Program tonight.

Be still my heart.

Did your daughter choose biochemical engineering? I seem to remember that, and as a biochemical engineer myself I was interested.

@laroque Tim, she was accepted into the Chemical and biomolecular engineering program. She's also considering a math major. I would live to hear what you do! She has struggled with knowing exactly hiw engineering will fit in with a desire to live in a city and work internationally. :)

Beautiful girls! Making more than photos... making great memories! We raise our kids and love to see them succeed... but it sure is hard to see them off into adulthood! Congrats to your daughter!

@laroque Thank you so much for all of this detail! She'll figure it out along the way, and the good thing about Ga. Tech is there are tons of opportunities to participate in COOPs or internships with major companies during her undergraduate years.

Super congrats to your daughter, I am so glad that all her hard work paid off, I know how stressful a time it is for both student and parent! Even though she is not here in the Chicagoland area I hope you will come back this way, would love to meet up with you!
