Male House Finch in Cherry Tree by darylo

Male House Finch in Cherry Tree

I used to think that cherry blossoms fell mostly in the breeze, but in the case of my tree, when I see the blossoms falling, it's from two sources: birds that eat the blossoms, and bees gathering pollen. Today I had tons and tons of bees working madly on getting their fill, and Mr. House Finch also took in his portion. For every touch, a beautiful cherry blossom floats to the ground. It's pure magic.
And this photo highlights the magician behind the magic beautifully. Perfect comp. The softness of color... big fave!

How are you my friend? I love this shot! I have a house finch pair in my front tree and I've named them Herb & Helma after my much-missed parents. It's so funny because my mother couldn't whistle - when she tried, she sounded like these finches! Stay well my dear.
