Working on a Photo Submission--"Splash of Color"

In my photography society, we have six reviews in the year based on themes. Next month, the review is "rain," and I'm trying to think of something that will let me take a photo (but not IN the rain to protect my gear). I decided to take a rose that my husband gave me for my birthday and put it on my outdoor table to capture the rain outside (so it would be wet) and then I could use the reflection from the table for my backyard trees. Today, when it was safely not raining on me, I dropped some water and tried to simultaneously capture a water crown. Hmmmm. Wonder if it fits the theme--these can be tricky. What do you think?

It's a great photo, and I particularly like the inclusion of the reflected branches. But as for fitting the theme, I'm not so sure ... this photo shouts 'rose' at me, or 'reflections' or 'water crown', but it doesn't shout "rain'.

I love this image! What a lovely water crown and beautiful rose! I am not sure the image says “rain” to me. Perhaps use a spray or watering can so there is water (rain) falling onto the rose. I did a similar idea with my hose spraying onto a bunch of tulips with the sun light shining through the droplets.

what a fabulous image! well done! I am undecided about it fitting the theme - I often think of rain as ripples and droplets and what is left after the fall
