@rvwalker I was surprised I was able to get this shot with the light not on the subject and it was really approaching evening. The tail is my favorite part--wish I could have gotten the eye area better, but I was really stretching for a shot today. It was stunning outside and I didn't get much of anything. Such is the way sometimes.
I was just thinking yesterday that I've given squirrels and chipmunks short shrift, not even thinking to aim my glass on them. You brought this poor little guy the the dignity he deserves.
@squamloon I'm no fan of the rodent family, especially the chipmunks who raided and ate all of the chickadee eggs this past spring. But I do appreciate them from afar. Rats with bushy tails. Ugh. My apple tree feeds the squirrels, and as long as they stay in their space, I'm good. If they try to get in my space, well, not good.
@juliedduncan They do so many funny tricks in my backyard. One day, I got one hanging upside down reaching for the berries on my popular berry bush (every animal was eating from it)--we even videotaped it.
Funnily enough I do think that bu they are so pretty it's hard to believe it!
