Seriously? How or why or what is that? A baby from a different mother? What a surprise it must have been . . . and lucky you to have it still be sitting there after you had the wits to go grab your camera!
@bulldog@amandal@lisatown@maggiemae@maggiemae@rosiekerr@nadaa@jyokota@anazad511 Thanks all! I think it's a wood chip that got on its back when we were cutting away and making a mess. My husband let me take some shots and then we placed it back in the tree--it's a green tree frog. I love these guys. Such a rich green. I wish I could show you the first shots I took on "auto" and once I realized the little guy wasn't going to hop away, I played with manual--always a better choice!!! Sun hit just right. I was lucky on this one. :)
I can feel the moist interesting texture of its skin just looking at it. I love frogs. Used to get their eggs when little and watch them go thru tadpole stage on up.
That chip on its back totally looks like the kind of toads we have around here - that's what I thought it was at first! Great capture either way - beautiful lighting and it's skin looks so shiny and smooth
@not_left_handed maybe it is a toad! We were making a big mess trimming the bushes, so I just assume flying wood chips or dirt flicked up on the green frog!
