Hembree Farm--ONS9 Rural by darylo

Hembree Farm--ONS9 Rural

It's really suburbia, but down the street from us is the old Mansell home which was brought here to reconstruct (I think) Hembree Farm (several of the buildings have been moved or placed here). Right behind it is a full-fledged suburban sub-division. To the left of it used to be land for cattle (which was there when we moved in), but the county took the land to build the elementary and middle schools where my kids have attended. I'm very glad they are making a historical living museum from what does remain.

I took this shot in the rain while in the car. I'm pretty sure I was trespassing. It's the only place I could think of that would not ruin equipment.

I'm a little verklempt right now. This ends my 6th One Night Stand Series. I started at #4 and have not missed one since. I have learned so much from these challenges, and I have Jerry Plume and all the other "wild riders" to thank for inspiring me with humor and excellent photography. I'm thinking of making a collage of my favorite one night stands--like marks in my little black book with stars or ratings. Would seem appropriate. Thanks to @orangecrush again for making my 365 experience memorable. I'm one lucky gal.
Jerry, I think I speak for so many, we love you. Thanks for the fun. @orangecrush ;)

Very nice Beryl, yes I think this counts as Rural, even if it is almost in an Urban setting.

Well done, Daryl. You are so good at pushing yourself.

@maggiemae Verklempt is a Yiddish word that means "overcome with emotion." Pronounced "fer-klempt," people use it when they are so emotional that they're on the verge of tears or at a loss for words due to their emotional state.

Pronunciation: fer-klempt

Definitley a rural image in the middle of suburbia! The sepia gives it a very timeless look!

A superb example of urban-rural in juxtaposition. I so agree about the ONS and the way it pushes us to try new and different things. I missed participating this time but plan to for the next one -- I hope there is a next one, Jerry! @orangecrush
