The Big Cast Iron Dinner by darylo

The Big Cast Iron Dinner

It's the huge one. No joke. Better than a crock pot but dang if it isn't heavy.
Fabulous capture.

They are heavy, but I love cooking in them. Great shot! Dinner looks good too. :)

Oh, that looks so fabulously appealing . . . that glistening point in the back rim of the pot is the perfect touch here to show off the BIG cast iron pot. And that food -- deliciously cast.

Heavy and very hot! This would be nice to know if it was at a campfire?

This looks so delicious! Everyone needs one large pot.

Wonderful pov...I feel like I'm right in the pan!

I love using cast iron to cook with! I have one of my grandmother's skillets that is at least 12" in diameter! Beautiful shot that looks as if we should have eaten at your place!

Wonderful hearty winter fare Daryl... I'm lucky enough to have a good selection of cast iron cookware too.

Looks so delicious.

Ah low-key Rembrandtesque deliciousness. I approve.

@grammyn That's so awesome. This pan is easily a 15in pan. I can only use it in the oven it's so big, but it's great to just put everything in. I hope to make a paella some day in it (have never made one). :)

oh I can imagine the weight - looks delicious - great composition

@annied Yes! And one must use very good hand mitts when retrieving it from the oven! HOT. But cast iron is the best cooking source, and once it is cured, it can last forever! @grammyn can attest. :)

@jyokota I got the glistening point by putting my camera phone in the oven!! I always say when I need a shot, I stick my head in the oven (with or without food) or I take a photo of my bedside lamp. :)

@darylo oh, the things we do for 365 photos! Glad you and your phone got out without getting burned.
January 7th, 2015
@maggiemae nope. Just my phone camera stuck in the oven at a check point. :)

You could totally defend yourself with that...a pan weapon. Learned that trick in Tangled!:)

@darylo I actually have several but I can't remember where they all came from now. I generally use two hands to lift the big one!
