The Hawk Visit

And all I had was my 35mm. But the birds always know I'll stop to admire them.
They like to do that Daryl. If you had had a big long zoom on your camera, he would have sat on the floor in front of you, far too close to focus.
They all study Avian Photography Avoidance leaflets in the nest these days !!!

@markp haha! I find it funny that I can't stop trying. Last year, I really left them alone, knowing my lenses never reach far enough and that I should just take in the "visit." But I love your take on it. I believe it to be quite true!

I actually like this far off view of him in his habitat!

@grammyn luckily I had a lens that allows a significant crop without losing too much. I came to the same conclusion as you--he was just showing off a home ;)

Wonderful sense of the wintry context. B&W was really an effective choice.

Nicely captured with that 'wee' lens! Works well in b&w.

@jamibann it's a heavy beast, unfortunately, but sharp! My frozen shoulder doesn't like it, bit it's like a session of PT haha
