Lunch

Getting back on my "food plan" which was very helpful in the summer. Looking to get in shape and lose weight for my "bucketlist" item of a surfing lesson in June. Let's hope I stick with it.

And many thanks to all of you who congratulated me for my award I received yesterday for a photo show! I was so surprised to see it made the popular page. :)
This looks wonderful - nicely captured!

Ok, yum is that guacamole in the center there? This looks marvelous and yeah you for taking up learning to surf. I tried once years ago, lost the board and it hit my sis in law in the eye. That and my fear of sharks made me quit fast.

@amandal My lunch required 2oz. of avocado, so I added chili powder, cumin, and cayenne and made guac of it! The dressing is just a tad bit if olive oil and lemon juice, so it needed something to make it taste better--the guac did it! I was actually not very happy with the flavor of the shrimp--I had bought this kind from Trader Joe's before, but they were too fishy smelling -- so off to get a different kind! Oh, and surfing. I'm going to Bali in June--long story, but it started with me saying to a friend visiting home "hey, I saw you surfing in Bali (on Fbook); I have on my bucket list a surfboard lesson before I turn 50.5!). He said, "Well, you'll have to have that lesson in Bali then!"

@taffy It's always the holidays that kill me (and the fact that my kids love pizza so much). I love this food plan with the high protein--I'm not ever really hungry in the end! But it takes a lot of pre-planning. Luckily, I remember how to do a lot in advance so putting together meals is a snap, but for people starting out, they are probably going to see the work it takes to get it done and say, "Call Papa Johns." haha

This looks yummy. Diets are supposed to look this good, are they??!!

@888rachel That's why I don't call it a diet. Diets imply I give up stuff whereas this "food plan" has tons of food--so much that I'm stuffed everyday, but I lose the weight because of the balance of proteins to carbs and a few fats (but I can use butter and olive oil and coconut oil--so it's not low fat at all--it's just high protein!). All of the ideas are delicious to be honest. It just takes TIME. I've learned a lot about advance prep for the week, so I just pull things out of the freezer or prechop things when I can. I've been able to stick with it 4 days now--3 pounds off already (and I swear, I'm eating a ton). Crazy.

@darylo that sounds much better than what I'm doing. Going to the gym and trying to work it all off.
