I'm so empty. My father-in-law was perhaps the most self-less man I knew, yet he was pragmatic, a man of few words, the penultimate Pop Pop to my children, consistent, best friend of my husband's mother (despite the divorce) and the master of pinochle. I'm taking a break, well, a bigger break than is already evident. I will try to master a lot of things in the coming days--too much (and it's not avoidable), and then I'll appear for a funeral, cry, return home, and then I'll disappear across the world. I'll touch base another time.
So sad to hear about your loss Daryl!! You and your family have had it so hard in the last year or so. My thoughts and prayers are with your and your family. Take your time and please enjoy your trip to Japan - we will hopefully see you when you return. Take care - keep safe!! Big hug!!
Oh, Daryl... I am so sorry for your family's loss. What a sad and difficult time this must be. I am hoping that this time and your trip will help you process your loss. :(
Ironic how we so dearly love special people in our lives and in equal measure it's devastating to lose them. I'm so sorry this loss came as you and your husband were about to set out on this marvelous holiday. You're in my thoughts and I hope you'll find those locations will be excellent places to reflect and heal.
After the funeral and your trip you will be welcomed back eagerly. Until then do what is planned and necessary.
transition.
