I took this photograph the morning after we arrived--very early as my body had not adjusted to the travel. I left my daughter to sleep in the apt. and I went to see what was around. I'll have to check the time stamp (minus the time diff). To the very left of this photo, there is a big blue door. That was the entrance to our Airbnb flat. It went into a great courtyard. Just outside that door is the bridge to cross the Canal and come to the vantage point where I am standing. The canal was so quiet, and I really enjoyed the reflections of the boutique shops (all in color in the distance). One hour later, the Canal St. Martin would be hopping with morning activity, but at this time, it was almost silent--except for a group of late age teens who were still partying on one of the bridges below the one near our door entry. I have a shot of them from one bridge to another. But this was our n'hood. It was formidable. Perfect. A good way for my daughter to experience a day-to-day experience with a side of hipster. Love Paris.
