Thanksgiving 2017 Commences

It's that time of year in America when we prepare for Thanksgiving, which is hand's down my favorite holiday of all time.

This year is a bit complicated for me given the fact that I cannot really rush anything, do too much, or plan something last minute as my back would not like that very much (I've ordered an extra "grabber" so I will have one upstairs and downstairs at all times).

Yesterday took me all day to put things that have been left all over the place in my kitchen in their proper places (or tossed/recycled--my preference). My whole house is in a state of disarray that I am not sure I will ever come out of again--people keep telling me, "just have someone come in and clean" and I laugh (really cry) "Um, they would have to get through all the crap on the floor and everywhere first."

So, my kitchen is good. And my lovely daughter above is about to tear it apart! But in the way I love--today starts the annual gingerbread house construction. It's homemade, as is the royal icing she'll make next.

Tonight is some American Music awards show, and my daughter is having over friends to watch because it will feature a performance by one of her favorite Korean Pop bands (BTS)! EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK! At least she has one girlfriend as equally committed to this boy band. It's a whole extra level of what Americans think of in terms of boy music groups. I highly encourage folks to check it out!

Today, my job is to get the dining room picked up. I'm taking what I can reach (I am NOT going to throw out my back) on the stairs and the family has to take it and put it away. If all goes right, after thanksgiving, I can hire someone to clean the home before everyone trashes it again and apparently thinks it's "fine" living like this. It's just GROSS.

Hot Dog. xoxo, More T-Day to come. If you want to see my series on what Thanksgiving is in America, my good friend Kali @kali66 from 365 asked me to detail it for my "Get-Pushed" challenge I did ages ago (when I was a little bit crazy and put together--those days are long gone! Haha!).

Really, you look so organized here! We just started making the list of what to get, though we do have our turkey sitting in the refrigerator. Can't wait to see the resulting gingerbread house!

I have enjoyed your Thanksgiving each year Daryl! So interesting to see all your preparations and lovely to see all your family celebrating together! Take it easy and give your family all the instructions this year. It will be just as wonderful as other years I am sure!

It looks very well planned out already. I know it will be just as magnifient as in years past even though it may be more difficult to accomplish this year. Be good to yourself

I'm so disappointed to hear that your back problem has not resolved. Hopefully it will at least teach everyone around you to help out? I look for to your photos of your delicious food.
