Imperial Swan by darylo

Imperial Swan

I'm just realizing that this was my first swan photo ever (unless this is not a swan--please just lie to me)--in Japan. I was reflecting today on how much I really miss taking photos of birds. My longest zoom no longer works, and it's been a very long time since I've gone chasing birds. Even this photo in Tokyo is super cropped--it was quite some distance from me. I'm lucky if I get anything. I know, stop sobbing. I was in Tokyo for Jiminy's Sake!

super darks/lights on this beautiful swan (looks like one to me).

What about the heron you found for Junko and me???? But this swan -- or is it an ugly duckling all grown up? -- is really a beauty!

I wanted to go to the zoo yesterday to try and get a swan, but it was just too cold. This one is so beautiful against the dark water and ripples.

FAV! I love the contrast of the white swan against that dark water the beautiful reflection and all the lines in the water! It's like a beautiful piece of art!

It must have been in one of those beautiful Japanese gardens where there is always a water feature! I didn't know swans could do yoga!

It's beautiful! Very serene! Are you working through a backlog of travel photos by chance? Then I am not alone... I have not edited our summer travels to Europe but finally moving in the right direction with that project.

@pflaume yes! I was in Bali and Japan last June. This album is solely for that trip. I have hundreds more, so I am doing what I can to store it here and write when I can. The "365" life is far behind me now, but this album I woukd like to keep pushing forward -- if only I had time!! :)

I think that they look wonderful when their resting in this position... the dark wavelets set it off perfectly.
