I wanted to see if I could get that wispy dawn long exposure of breaking waves effect in the middle of a searing hot day.
ISO50 F22 1.6sec & a variable ND filter at about 80%
Well that was fun.

And the answer is ... yes, yes you can Nice job. Great thing to know ... I see many possibilities in the future. There are a couple of corn-processing plants in my area and they belch out a lot of steam. It's clean steam though! I have played with an ND900 for sunny times that the steam makes interesting patterns. Works well for that too. I look forward to seeing some wonderful & fun pics.

Gorgeous! been wanting to try my new filter but still having trouble getting access to the beach after the storm :(

Great water in and around the rocks.

This has turned out fantastic. I must get one of those. I've tried stacking my 2,4 and 8 filters, but it seems to distort the colour. Variable looks like the way to go.

This is stunning! The blues, the water around the rocks and the dry vs wet rocks in the front are great. Well done!!!

Love how you composed this with the forground as the point of interest. It leads my eye right in and creates such depth in the shot. Long exposure - you nailed it.
