I LOVE reflection shots, can't help but look at these things as an opportunity to "play"... so we're in China this week, myself, my husband and my 12 year old. We spend a few days in Shanghai and a few days in Beijing. We checked into our hotel in Beijing and noticed this amazing "crystal ball" on the bannister of the ornate staircase in the lobby. Intrigued, my daughter went right to it and so I did I - camera in hand.
We had some fun with positioning and I've done enough of these shots to know that it's realllllly hard to get the right amounto of sharpness and that distortion is just part of the deal. I love that you see no trace of her body from behind the ball. I honestly did no tricks at all on this - other than some minor color adjustments, this is truly the image, I didn't clone out anything.
I just love messing with reflection shots, meanwhile, as we were playing my husband gave up on waiting for us and went up to our room :)
I'll have alot more China pictures coming when I get back to the U.S.
