Nice shot. From the image name, I see that you tone mapped it. Did it look much different before? Since you are shooting manly manual, how did you decide how to shoot this scene? Were you concerned with aperture or shutter speed? Sorry for all the questions, just curious.
@jwlynn64 Hi John. I did very little to the image. I tone-mapped it solely to reduce the sharp contrasts. In the original, the glare on the water is sharper and this smoothed it out. Other than that, the photo looks the same. I shot it at Aperture 22 which I knew from the beginning so I set the aperture first. I did this because I wanted it all in focus and I knew the sun flare would produce the star like quality. I only adjusted shutter speed to get a correct exposure from the light meter in the camera.
