Simple Tea by deborahsimmerman

Simple Tea

A cloudy, cool day, with rain starting about 3:00 in the afternoon. We stayed in all day and worked together in the morning moving about two hundred books out of the bedroom to prepare for a repair of a small corner of the ceiling tomorrow due to a leaking heating pipe above.

In the afternoon I used this opportunity to sort the books and set some aside to give away. I took a quick photo of each de-accessioned book to help me part from it. I'm also cataloguing my books slowly, using book collector's software and a bar code reader. I'm excited about getting my several thousand books catalogued, something I have been wanting to do for a long time.

I was so absorbed in this project, I could only spare the time for a simple tea. It was dark enough to light a votive candle. I love the glow of light on a rainy afternoon.
As years go by it is easier to give away books which are no longer used, however much they have been enjoyed in the past. Much better that they passed on to a new home.
