This was the first December day when I was home for tea, and I took out my December plate and tea cup, which I enjoy using at the beginning of the month, and lit candles and lay on my chaise longue with a blanket. It was good to rest after a day of cleaning and preparing the house for Christmas.
The first four days of December I was out and about, in the city and in Concord and Salem. It was fun, but rather exhausting to be constantly on the go. Today it snowed a tiny bit in the morning and then turned to rain, so it was a good stay-at-home day, and there was no where I wanted to be but home.
Not exactly! I did mention that I cleaned all day before taking a rest at tea time. I also don't have a butler to prepare the tea tray and serve it to me!
I'm retired now, so I do like to have tea every day if I'm home. It gives me great pleasure to choose the china, and it's a chance to sit and read for an hour or so. Actually, I work hard and keep extremely busy in my retirement with all my projects.
This is such a lovely set of china, Deborah. How smart you are to not "save" the good things just for special times - every day should be enjoyed as special. This one and your rose china are just beautiful.
Thank you, Milanie. That is my philosophy exactly--to make every day special. It gives me great pleasure to use different china through the seasons and to choose what I'm in the mood for each day.
Some time I should make a photo book of my tea settings through the seasons.
