State House Presiding over the Common

International Women's Day was quite warm and bright. I went to a women's event outside the State House, here seen on the hill above the Common with its golden dome. We did not get as many participants as I had hoped. There seemed to be a lot more going on in Europe and other parts of the world, from the photos I saw in the news. I spent the whole afternoon walking around the city and participated in two more demonstrations, downtown and in Copley Square, before going home for dinner and birthday cake with Peter--his birthday is today.
Beautiful photo. I remember Boston in such a great way. I spent a year working in Providence RI, (20 years ago) and I often went to Boston, walked it all over and then again. I loved it, and I am enjoying your photos of the city.

Lovely photo. There seemed to be a lot going on in London on International Women's Day but not here in Mid Wales.

@cherrymartina

How interesting, Martina, that you lived in Providence and visited Boston often. I'm glad you loved Boston. It has only gotten better in the last twenty years. I've lived here since 1985 and it becomes more livable all the time-- more parks and walkways along the harbor, for instance. I thought I would want to move when I retired, but now that I'm free I'm having such a good time in Boston, I am not so sure. If only I had a summer place like you do, it would be perfect.

Meanwhile, I have enjoyed learning about Zagreb from you, a place I did not know much about before. 365 is a good window into people's lives in different parts of the world. I am really interested in what everyday life is like in other places.

@deborahsimmerman, Nice message Deborah, thank you for the respond.... I think you might like Zagreb.. I would like to say it is simillar to Boston, but it never works when you compare American and Eurpean cities :) Any way, they do have some matching points... Historical stories, each its own, walking areas, young people from Unis, parks, squares, old town, new and old, pretty much measured for men, and I think similar in size, at least in the matter of central part of city. Climate is similar, even dough we don't have Ocean here, etc, etc. I could think of more...I would like to go back again...P.S. I will get back to my city photos. I want to make it a project of mine for more then one reason.
