Colorful Houses in the Neighborhood

I've always enjoyed the colorful houses in Jamaica Plain, mostly nineteenth century and early twentieth century. I passed these yesterday on my walk to the Arboretum.

Over the years I've taken dozens and dozens of photos of the architecture around here, not just the distinctive houses but comfortable family homes like these. Some day I plan to make a photo book of my Jamaica Plain house photos. If we ever move away from here, it will be a nice remembrance. I once took a course on the architecture of the American house, and a classmate said, "It's such a nice interest to have because everywhere you go, all you have to do is look around." Yes, I'm never bored walking these streets; I just look around at the houses.

Today it rained all day--no photo opportunities. We stayed in and worked on the organizing project in the back room--perfect weather for that.
Like a nice postcard... I love this collage!
