I had so many ideas for a 365th shot but decided a tribute to my Granddaughter was how I wanted to finish. She has been a big help to me in my project and in my overall practice and experimentation with photography. So many people comment that we look a lot alike so this gave me a chance to see just how accurate their assessment is.
I shot my Granddaughter's picture a few days ago and worked very hard today both with my own selfie and then trying to recreate the processing. It's not spot on but it's close and I'll call it a wrap. On this last shot for my year, I learned something new yet again...write down what you do in case you want to do it again!
To all my 365 friends, to those that have viewed, commented, FAVd and helped me grow, to Miss Pam at my Grandaughter's school who told me about 365, I just can't express how wonderful you all are. I am in awe of your talents and I've enjoyed watching many of your photography experiments and growth along the way, too.
I started this project with a very simple shot of a cantalope! I was just months new to photography as I had never had anything more than a "point & shoot" until then. The DSLR can be overwhelming with so much to learn about the camera itself and about photography but I can't begin to tell you how much you all have helped me learn, been an inspiration, and given feedback that proved so valuable to me.
I will be back but not sure exactlly when. I'm going to take a little break like so many others have done after their first year. And I have a new format for my 2nd year project in mind.
I appreciate simplicity so I will simply say...THANK YOU!

Congrats on 365! This is a great idea and great shot... you and your granddaughter do look a lot alike. Please don't take too long of a break... I will miss your amazing shots and your clever wit! :)
@rockinrobyn -- The hat was for a selfie challenge shot in my project and belonged to my late father. It is something I will always cherish. Thanks so muhc, Robyn! We'll "meet" up again soon!
Incredibly done! I think it is wonderfully matched and the two of you are like twins! Congratulations on the completion of your project. I too shall miss you but totally understand the need for a break! You have been an inspiration to me so many times and I will miss that as well!
Oh Debbie ...I didn't even see this coming! I am always saddened when someone that I love to follow for inspiration is leaving. You've been a great supporter for me and have been so generous with your help and with answering questions. I understand the 'break' but hope that you'll miss us so much that you'll want to come back soon! I will miss your gorgeous photos and clever and unique way of shooting pics. Another beautiful photo Debbie and such a fabulous way to end your 365. I hope you take the time to print this photo and put it up in your home and make a special copy for your granddaughter as well. Your comments have left me with shivers.

WOW, congratulations on your finishing the project but I do hope to see me of you again. One think I have appreciated there were times you actually gave a suggestion of or said what you didn't like. While I love the "oh this is wonderful" type comments I like to know when there is something other people see and make suggestions. I'm on my first year (started Dec 13th) and have my point & shoot. I've learned tons already and you have been a part of that learning.
You mentioned how much you have learned but in this process of learning you have passed on your knowledge as well.

Well Debbie, it is a wonderful final shot, and there is definitely a resemblance between you two. I have enjoyed following you as well, and appreciate all the support and feedback you have given. Have a nice break, and we will be watching for your return. Not sure what I am going to be doing either after June as that marks the end of my second year.

This is an amazing finale. I just wanted to thank you so much for commenting on so many of my 365 photos. It means a lot. The feedback is so motivational in helping stick with it.
@krisdan -- If it wasn't for my 365 friends, I probably wouldn't have made it but now it almost seems strange that I don't need to post anything today. I'll enjoy the break, though. @debsphotos super busy, but can't really complain. When I finish this year, I'll be back for year 2, but not posting daily (seriously doubt I'll do it daily... its a huge time consumer)
