Old Family Recipe

362 / 365
I was getting ready for a family party tomorrow and making one of our family-favorite recipes given to me by my cousin who passed away shortly after Bob and I were first married. She made this recipe so many times and now many of us continue making it almost 40 years later. It will always be known as "Carol's Beans". Miss you, Carol!

Looks like the beans my sis-in-law makes... We call them Mary Ann's beans!

This is such a great photo, Debbie .. the composition is perfect! As I look at it, I see most of the same ingredients that I put in our baked bean recipe too. Delicious.

@marilyn @karenann -- Thanks to you both! I know there are plenty of variations out there of this recipe but, of course, we like Carol's best! There's ground beef in it, too, along with the bacon.

Terrific shot, composed very well! The POV is just right and so is the processing for this subject! Well done as always!

Much better than ordering (take out) my mother had her own bean recipe for baked beans made from scratch. We had them about every holiday when she was still with us. I really miss her making them. One thing she did kid about though was that after she soaked the beans overnight she would stick a pin in each bean. why you ask?? to let the gas out before they were comsumed.
