Pongal.
...
..
.
Okay so it was Pongal(South Indian Festival) the next day and the pressure of buying a good shirt on the present day, I wanted to buy a really good shirt since I was wearing a Dhoti/Veshti(South Indian Traditional Attire) for the first time. I was excited for the Pongal celebrations in my college, there were a few reasons for the excitement.
1) Our college rarely celebrates a function, so it was a really great opportunity to celebrate and be carefree for a day at least.
2) Was about to wear a Veshti for the first time that excitement was also on another level.
and #3 It was going to be a fun day, everyone could get a chance to update their profile pics, many photo opportunities were waiting in the function, and also every guy and girl would be looking really pretty in the attire. so these were some of the reasons for my happiness and excitement.
.
But with the excitement also came a fear, what if my Veshti is not tight enough around my waist, that was my biggest concern that day, being a north Indian I never wore a veshti in my whole life. But again I forgot I was in Tamil Nadu there are veshti experts here, one of my friends helped me wear that and for extra protection, I wore a belt over it which is totally absurd and covered it under the shirt.
Haha, problem solved, I didn't even think about it throughout the day and enjoyed really well.
The function was really beautiful filled with clours and beautiful people in beautiful dresses everywhere.
I didn't take many photos that day but was happy that the day and the celebrations were fantastic.
Best report possible. Great that you were consumed by the day. I do believe there are occasions when you simply must “be” in the moment rather than photographing it.
