Gol Gappa by deepak28

Gol Gappa

Pani-Puri, Gol Gappa, puchka whatever you call it, it is one of India's favourite street food. If you want to know what a Gol Gappa is better experiencing it, words are not enough to describe it. This is a review what a normal citizen of the country would give, I personally don't like it, Have had many Gol-Gappa eating competition when I was young but now I don't feel like eating it. They are one of the most photographed street food in the nation's capital, people love it till the core, to be honest everything about the dish is good from the beginning to the end. My family and friends love it. If you go to Delhi this is one thing that you would get it in every corner of any street regardless the season, People who love it know the blast of flavours in the mouth after having it, Eating it is no less than a sport, you have to finish it before the vendor serves the next one and the next and next.. It goes on and on. I would suggest that in case you ever visit Delhi Eat Gol Gappa in front of India Gate, That is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in the evening. The vibes near India Gate in the Evening cannot be matched by any other place in Delhi, You get to see a monument on which the names of all the brave soldiers who martyred in the Battlefield and at the same time the crowd from different parts of the country, You will find many vendors, jewellery stalls, Cotton candy and all this with a beautiful sunset, I will tell you more about the beauty of India Gate in the evening slowly and steadily on future posts because I've embraced that vide and I would be glad to share it, By that time make the mouth of all Pani-Puri lovers water.
Sounds intriguing - what is it made from?

I had to google it... and it sounds wonderful! I love samosa's. My neighbors are from India and they always have the best Indian food at their house when they invite us over for parties!!!

Interesting candid street capture. The man nearest us looks as if he is either deep in thought or perhaps a little bored!

@m2016 okay so it is like, A hollow ball with crispy texture which is made with flour and the deep-fried, While serving it individually a small hole is made on the top and then add a small qty of spicy mashed potatoes and gram mixture, a sweet chutney(an ingredient ground in to a rough creamy state),and then the ball is filled with jaljeera(I don't know the English translation for that, lol) which is really sour and a treat in hot days, all these together make an explosion of flavours in your mouth, and the only rule you have to follow while eating Pani-puri is that you have to eat it at once, otherwise you don't get the joy of eating it.

@jenp Samosas are the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing can beat that, the only problem is to find a shop which actually makes Good samosas, I guess they usually fill it with mashed potatoes, but In India, from the past few years they have started stuffing it with Macaroni, Chowmein and whatnot, But the potato stuffing is close to the heart.
