"Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand."
-William Butler Yeats
I have a love/hate relationship with the river near our house - I hate it when it's high and raging because it scares me and I have known of too many drownings, and I love it when it is calm and playful and we can use it as an extension of our backyard.
"I went down to the river,
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank."
-Langston Hughes (don't worry, he got out of the river just fine later in the poem!)
Beautifully composed - love the contrast between her primary-coloured cardi and the muted colours of the stones - and that flash of sun reflected in the pool.
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank."
-Langston Hughes (don't worry, he got out of the river just fine later in the poem!)
Life is fine indeed. Nice picture Delia!
Great shot!
the lines and bright colors of her sweater creates such a beautiful contrast with the circles and earthy colors of the stones and water.
