I didn't know that there were so many different kinds of flowers until I saw your photos, Denise. Where have I been all of my life . . this is a mystery to me.

@mrssmith I'm not sure what you mean here. This photo was taken last summer at my local arboretum. The beauty and unusual colors of this flower caught my eye.

I'm pretty sure that you'll find this plant is Hibiscus trionum ( native to europe). Not as big or bright as the tropical Hibiscus, but somehow more charming because of that ;)
