VERITAS Telescope by desertaura

VERITAS Telescope

VERITAS is an acronym for Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System. This photo shows one of four 12m optical reflectors for gamma-ray astronomy. It is located at the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory on Mount Hopkins in Arizona. The bright planet you see in the sky just above the reflector is Mars. I took this photo on 2 February 2015.

What time of day were you there? Is the EXIF data available somewhere? Mr. Astronomy is inquiring. ;->

@judilyn - Look under Photo Details in right column. There is a line for "Exif" about halfway down. Click "View Info."
