to retirement, that is... a couple of years ago, we bought 20 acres up north; and this last month, an adjacent 10 acre parcel (with well and some outbuildings) was repossessed, so we signed the papers on that today. A year-round creek runs through the acreage (which dumps into the Spokane River a couple of miles away), and there are plenty of wild turkeys and deer (we're ignoring the cougar and rattlesnakes). We found house plans this week - a craftsman style house with porch on three sides, so this will end up being part of our view someday. In a way, this will make it easier to go to work each day - now I know what I'm working toward!
Rattlers aside, it's a great view. I do love Eastern Washington's views. I have cousins in Walla Walla and used to love summers on their big covered patio. May I suggest a kitchen passthrough window? Fabulous for dinners with a warm summer breeze and a big table outside and less running around for the cook. Good memories.
