Record breaking snow this early in October - 6 inches by early evening. I took lots of beautiful/depressing snow pictures but ultimately decided to go with this one because it was so heartwarming. I don't know these neighbors, but I watched while two older boys played with a toddler in the snow for a good hour. Now if you have ever had a toddler in the winter, they usually start crying not long after being outside. The snow is cold, the air is cold, they can't walk in the snow, they can barely walk at all with all their winter clothing. But these two boys carried him/her up this little hill at least 20 times, patiently placed him/her in the sled between their legs and just played. It was so sweet to watch. I wish I could call their parents and tell them how impressed I was with their willingness to entertain this little person! The only downside was playing in the street at the bottom of the hill!! Yikes!
