Took my macro lens out in the yard to see what I could find. It was really warm here today and I guess the bugs have decided its spring (they haven't heard the weather forecast for sunday....) Anyway, these ants were so small that I thought the white bug was an egg...but now I think its a newly hatched potato bug (not the scientific name, just what we've always called them!) Seems like I can always find a picture with my macro! Love, love, love this lens!
Great image, I wonder if it could be an aphid, ants are known to "farm" aphids protecting them from predators and in return being allowed to milk them (they excrete a sweet honeydew which the ants like)
