This is a Goldenrod Crab Spider eating a hornet! I was struck by how her pink completely matched the color of the echinacea. Poor hornet. If you look closely, you can see her eyes...right where the tip of yellow is. Part of me wanted to magnify the shot so you could see it better....but I opted for this view instead.
Wow! Nice capture... you and the crab spider. I've been photographing some of these crab spiders, but mine are so small its hard to believe that they could snag a bee. I've heard that they are honey bee killers, now I've seen it in action!
