The ages of trees

Trees are amazing, especially when you can look inside and see the story of their growth. I always find it sad that they get cut down, simply because we as humans want something else to be where they are.
I agree with you on both counts

Beautiful capture of this old tree. It is always sad to me too when the big trees are cut down to make room for man's desires.

Did you ever try to count the rings when you were a kid to try and figure out how old they were?

There's this interesting flow in the texture. Kind of looks like a depiction of wind. Truly incredible capture of the texture Debs.

I feel the same way. I hate to see tress cut down...... What a shame this one was.... Looks almost ancient!! Tree years wise. Nice shot, however.

I am the same- our neighbor across the street just cut down at least 20 on a wooded portion of their property. I was beside myself for days. It is so ugly over there now, I know it's lowered some of our property value. And why? The wood is just sitting there in piles and they don't burn like we do. I do like looking at the patterns inside though- on our wood pile which will keep us warm and is generally comprised of trees that were unhealthy or storm damaged and had to come down. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now! Good shot.

You can add me to the list too Debs. I hate to see trees cut down for no good reason, such vandalism.
