Guineafowl by dide

Guineafowl

These are our guineafowl - they hang out with the hens, roosters and ducks. They are funny things - lovely feathers and bodies and very ugly heads (small head, and I am sure very small brain…..).They make a repeated noise like a squeaky gate hinge. They only seem to have a short egg laying time and their eggs are about the size of a bantam egg, with a very, very hard shell.
They do look funny, but at least that they are not brainless. Love the one with a close look of the face.

A wonderful collage giving a real sense of the character of these hardy, adaptable birds.

How wonderful. I love guinea fowl. Except, of course for their habit of roosting on the highest thing they can find.

We used to have some guinea fowl...great guard dogs! They loved to roost in the damson trees. Good to eat too! Nice to see them again.

And they have pea brains too. I used to have some when I was on the farm. Lovely treatment of your collage, shows good imagination.
