April 25th is ANZAC Day in NZ. Today, in Blenheim, the white crosses were placed next to the War Memorial clock tower, ready for the commemorative service in the morning. It was moving to see them being carefully placed row by row.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
A wonderful capture of this very beautiful memorial set up. I too noticed set ups for ANZAC day out and about, mostly shades and seats were being set up. I too will be attending a service tomorrow. :)
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
An absolutely beautiful, evocative image - Fav.
