Church of Saints Peter and Paul by dide

Church of Saints Peter and Paul

This is a window in a delightful wee church in Puhoi (just north of Auckland). Puhoi was settled by the Bohemians in the 1860s. The settlers came to NZ to farm - a tough life in the Puhoi area, as it was a bush clad wet, cold valley with nowhere to live until they had cleared the land and built their first basic homes. The church is very well kept and the windows all depict family names from the first settlers.
Lovely stained glass

We have many settler churches in our areas too - I would love to go around and photograph them all. Awesome capture! Long may it remain intact.
