Guava time by dide

Guava time

The guava are getting ripe and so we have been visited by one of the local kereru (NZ native wood pigeon). I will have to try to get a photo of him, but he's a bit shy.
Oh, lovely - looking forward to seeing the kereru one day too!

Guava are really NZ fruits aren't they? So much Vit C but of course if the birds get the Vit C, then its them that are healthy!

@maggiemae Yep - I don't think the kereru will be getting a cold anytime soon!

@onewing lovely when really ripe. They make a tart jelly but no good for jam as they have course seeds.

Haven't had a guava in over 40 years since I left S.A. I never knew what they looked like on a tree so Your shot with the great lighting has shown me something new
